The City of Kirkland is seeking an on-call Permit Technician to provide public information on development code regulations and permit procedures. You will review applications for completeness and route them to the appropriate departments, while calculating fees and ensuring compliance with state and city rules.

Essential duties include assisting the public in person, by phone, and email, supporting permitting software, and training staff. On-call status with no benefits is specified.

Formación

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• 2 years office experience with heavy public contact and 2 years general computer experience.
• ICC certification as Permit Technician or obtain within 1 year of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Provide general and technical information to the public; interpret code and permit requirements.
• Review permit applications for completeness and assist with submittal process.
• Route permits to city departments and prepare permits for issuance; calculate fees based on criteria.
• Calculate water meter size and water supply piping per Plumbing Code; use customer-provided data.
