Overview

Leading Edge Environmental and Emergency Services is seeking versatile and mission-driven individuals or partner organizations to join our network as On-Call / Per-Diem Environmental & Incident Management Specialists. This flexible position is designed for professionals with diverse backgrounds who can support a range of emergency response, training, and operational needs.

We welcome independent contractors, consultants, freelance professionals, and organizations interested in mutual support agreements, as well as individuals looking for non-traditional employment with meaningful impact.

You may be called upon to perform any of the following tasks, depending on your skillset and the assignment:

  • Join spill management teams in ICS (Incident Command System) roles
  • Support planning and logistics during emergency activations
  • Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Operations:
  • Assist in drone operations as Part 107 pilot or ground crew
  • Collect environmental data and situational awareness imagery
  • Training & Instruction:
  • Teach courses on hazardous materials, wildland fire, incident management, or occupational safety
  • Serve as an instructor or assistant in classroom and field environments
  • Field Support:
  • Provide boots-on-the-ground support during emergency response operations
  • Work in planning or logistics sections for deployments and drills

Ideal Experience

We’re looking for candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Prior experience with emergency response, regardless of hazard type (oil, chemical, wildfire, etc.)
  • Experience in adult education or workplace training delivery
  • Operational or technical knowledge of drone/UAS systems
  • Strong computer literacy, including GIS, data management, and standard office software

Desired Certifications & Qualifications

While not all are required, preference will be given to candidates with:

  • HAZWOPER certification
  • ICS training and position qualifications
  • Spill response or oil/hazardous materials training
  • Train-the-Trainer credentials or equivalent instructor certification
  • College degreesand/or professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) related to incident management, safety management, or environmental and physical sciences
  • Experience developing or conducting drills and exercises
  • Familiarity with the Northwest Area Contingency Plan (NWACP)
