Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is hiring a Bartender/Server – On Call for Sonesta Denver Downtown (Lockwood). This non-exempt, hourly role reports to the Restaurant & Banquets Manager and requires part-time, on-call availability plus weekend/holiday flexibility.

Pay ranges from $16.27 to $17.00 per hour. Duties include greeting guests, taking orders, crafting drinks, daily bar prep, and ensuring guest satisfaction in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Bartender; high-volume bar preferred.
• Experience with computerized cash registers is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work quickly without compromising quality.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain performance.
• Attentive, friendly, courteous to guests and staff.
• Must stand and move quickly for the shift.
• Team-oriented and able to work with co-workers.
• Food handler and TIPS certificates required.
• Front-facing guest service experience is required.
• Must read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests warmly.

• Prepare the bar for service with supplies and garnishes.
• Inventory unused liquor; secure liquor during/after shifts.
• Adhere to cash handling and POS entry policies.
• Clean and reset bar top and tables after guests depart.
• Complete closing duties and reports as assigned.
• Secure all liquors and storage areas.
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain uniform and grooming standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Responsibilities

• Greet, welcome, and interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner.
• Take orders, prepare drinks according to recipes and serve all food and beverage requests in the bar.
• Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
• Prepare the bar for service by ensuring bar supplies, garnishes, utensils are properly set up in accordance with quality standards.
• Inventory unused liquor and beverages. Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at close of shift.
• Adhere to all cash handling and credit card policies and procedures. Ensure that all drink orders from servers are accurately rung into the P.O.S. system.
• Clean and reset bar top and tables immediately after guests depart.
• Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned.
• Secure all liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets and storage areas.
• Adhere to established safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
• Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience as a Bartender required, preferably in a high-volume bar.
• Experience with computerized cash registers preferred.
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work quickly without compromising quality.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
• Attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
• Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
• Food handlers and TIPS certificates required.
• Previous front facing guest service experience required.
• Must read, write and speak the English language fluently.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Physical Demands

• Must be able workin a fast-pacedenvironment.
• Majority of work takes place indoors.
• Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures - i.e. freezers, loading dock.
• Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking while working.

Expected Hours of Work

• Must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays.
• Must be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights).
