Sierra Donor Services - New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a board-certified Organ Recovery Surgeon to assist with clinical, operational and research activities. The role includes surgically recovering abdominal organs for transplantation and research across donor hospitals and maintaining on-call coverage as required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO, board certified in general surgery with a current licensure.
• 5+ years of experience in organ recovery/transplantation or critical care.
• Weekday and weekend donor recovery call availability.
• Strong interpersonal communication and analytical/problem-solving skills.
• COVID-19 vaccination proof or eligible for start date vaccination.

Responsabilités

• Surgically recovers abdominal organs (liver, kidney, pancreas, small bowel) for transplantation and research.
• Maintains on-call coverage for donor activity and timely organ recovery.
• Ensures compliance with CMS, UNOS, AOPO and medical/legal standards.
• Provides education and training to OPO staff and hospital personnel involved in donation processes.
• Acts as liaison between the organization and hospital staff during organ procurement.
