Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse on Call (Exempt) in the Operating Room Complex. This full‑time role features a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule, with three 8‑hour shifts during on‑weeks and 7 days of on‑call duties beyond regular hours.

A 30‑minute response time is required; staying in house is not mandatory. Sign‑on bonuses up to $20,000 and bridging programs for BSN/MSN are offered, along with typical Mercy benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in acute, outpatient, procedural, or specialty care.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current MO RN license in Missouri (or compact licensure) and BLS certification.
• AORN certification preferred; ACLS as required.
• Must be available outside of business hours during call shift.
• Must respond within 30 minutes to on‑call notifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide on‑call RN support outside regular hours.
• Assess situations, coordinate care, and support safe patient outcomes.
• Respond promptly to on‑call notifications and be ready for cases extending past normal hours.
• Maintain in‑house readiness and balance call duties with scheduled shifts.
