Job summary

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (On‑Call/As Needed) for levels I, II, and III, based in Omaha. Candidates will conduct patient assessments and work collaboratively with a team to deliver comprehensive care. The role requires an active BSN license, relevant nursing education, and experience, particularly in Native American healthcare.

This position supports health services across multiple locations within the Tribe's Service Delivery Area. Preference will be given to Ponca Tribe members and federally recognized tribes.

Qualifications

• Active and in good standing BSN license.
• Two years of clinical experience as a BSN-Registered Nurse.
• Active, good standing APRN license and successful completion of a national certification exam.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient status by obtaining health history and evaluates presenting illness.
• Orders and performs appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Collaborates with care team to determine patient needs and provides surveillance.

Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Computer proficiency with electronic health record systems

Valid driver's license and insurance eligibility

Willingness and ability to travel

Education

Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited program

Doctorate degree in Nursing
