Job summary

Bethesda Lutheran Services is seeking an on-call registered nurse for its Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility. The nurse will provide basic medical care, document records, and advise staff on medical conditions affecting at-risk youth.

The role requires PA RN licensure, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to rotate on-call duties to maintain 24/7 coverage. Experience with at-risk teens is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN with PA license required.
• Experience with at-risk teens in a treatment setting preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Provides on-call nursing care to the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility.

Job Summary:

Provides on-call nursing care to the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (P.R.T.F.)..

Essential Functions of the Position:

• Provides basic medical care to clients in the program making recommendations for more advanced care if necessary.
• Properly document medical records for each P.R.T.F. client.
• Provides guidance to staff in special medical conditions affecting the at-risk youth population.
• Maintains various documents as required by regulations and agency policies.
• Provides guidance to staff regarding medical conditions/situations involving clients.
• Rotates on-call duty with other nursing staff as needed to maintain a 24/7 availability for consultation regarding medical situations involving clients.
• Ability to fill-in for Director of Medical Services as needed. Advanced notice will be provided for any scheduled vacation time.
• Monitors and/or dispenses medication in accordance with the doctor’s orders as needed.

Required Education, Experience and Clearances:

• Registered Nurse with a current Pennsylvania license to practice nursing.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Experience working with at-risk teens in a treatment setting is preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• FBI, Child Abuse History, PA State Police, and Driver Clearances. Other clearances may be required dependent on residency status.
