Job summary

Guidepost Montessori in California is seeking a friendly on-call Substitute Teacher to support mixed-age classrooms (0–6) when regular teachers are out. No formal Montessori training required; training is provided during orientation.

This flexible role offers part-time hours with the potential to grow into a full-time Assistant Teacher position. You will help maintain a calm, engaging classroom, model patience and kindness, and collaborate with staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity

Qualifications

• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Valid state background check.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Passion for working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain consistency.
• Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across mixed-age groups.
