Job summary

Valley Cities Counseling and Consultation seeks an On-Call Medical Provider to join a multidisciplinary team caring for patients in inpatient withdrawal management and involuntary psychiatric care. This role supports weekend, holiday and overnight coverage, provides medical evaluations, orders labs, and coordinates care with RPK/RPS teams while maintaining documentation and licensure.

The position requires MD/DO or ARNP credentials, WA state licensure, adherence to addiction treatment best

Qualifications

• MD/DO or ARNP licensed to practice in WA state
• Board certification or eligibility where applicable
• Familiarity with addiction and substance use disorder treatment
• DEA X waiver preferred or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

• Provide timely telephone support to nursing staff regarding admissions, discharges, and medication orders
• Provide initial medical evaluation to clients admitted to Recovery Place Kent and/or Recovery Place Seattle
• Perform triage, assessment and treatment for acute medical conditions during inpatient stay
• Decide on transfers to appropriate level of care as needed
• Coordinate with RPK/RPS teams regarding other programming while admitted
• Support nursing staff and coordinate with medical providers as indicated
• Utilize and oversee MAT such as naltrexone and buprenorphine where appropriate
• Order and interpret lab tests; maintain medical documentation in EMR
• Maintain licensure, board certification and continuing education; comply with Joint Commission and state/federal requirements
• Be available for at least 3 shifts per month, including one weekend; one major and one minor holiday per year
