Job summary

The Scion Group is seeking a Facilities Technician to handle maintenance, repairs, and preventive tasks across our student housing properties in Virginia. The role supports turnovers, ensures safety, and maintains high service levels for residents.

The ideal candidate will perform basic mechanical work, respond to service requests, and collaborate with property teams to keep facilities in peak condition. This position requires a practical, safety-minded approach and the ability to work in a

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPO certification or intent to obtain within six months.
• Clear communication and safety-conscious attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical condition of the property according to SOPs, OSHA, and industry standards.
• Perform physically demanding work to maintain assets and minimize liability.
• Execute maintenance objectives and daily assignments with the Facilities team.
• Perform minor and routine maintenance/repair in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist in ensuring all service requests are completed.
• Document work performed and parts used; submit daily reports with notes, supplies used, follow-up needs, date, and signature.
• Promote positive relations with residents, staff, contractors, and management.
• Perform basic appliance repair, carpentry, plumbing/fixture repair, painting, basic electrical and lighting to ready apartments on time.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks assigned.
• Clean coils and condensers, lubricate equipment, replace air filters, and perform minor repair work as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, both on-site and in the shop.
