Job summary

Dallas County is seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist building maintenance across plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems on a rotating day schedule, including responding to emergency calls during evenings, midnights, and weekends at the county's facilities.

The role requires high school diploma or GED, 6 months of general maintenance experience or 1 year formal training, a valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a security clearance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs minor maintenance and emergency repairs to buildings, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Coordinates with On Call supervisor for assistance as needed.
• Performs inspections and logging of building mechanical equipment and meter readings.
• Works on jail doors: adjusting and repairing door mechanisms as necessary.
• Conducts weekly and monthly operational and maintenance inspections.
• Maintains and completes reports as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
