Job summary

Newport Hospice is seeking an On-Call LVN Runner to join our team in San Bernardino, CA. You will provide compassionate bedside nursing support in home and facility settings, perform skilled assessments, manage symptoms, and administer treatments under supervision of an RN.

The role requires an active CA LVN license, flexibility for on-call shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, and strong communication with the hospice team to ensure high-quality end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• Active CA LVN license required.
• Hospice, palliative, or home health experience preferred.
• Ability to work flexible on-call shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Respond to on-call patient needs, providing timely bedside nursing support in home and facility settings
• Perform skilled nursing assessments, symptom management, and comfort-focused interventions
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the care plan and supervising RN
• Communicate patient status updates clearly to the on-call RN and interdisciplinary hospice team
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families during end-of-life care
• Accurately document clinical observations and interventions in the patient medical record
• Coordinate with hospice staff to ensure seamless continuity of care during after-hours visits
