Job summary

Project Open Hand is seeking a Cook II on-call in San Francisco. You will execute complex recipes, prep and package meals, and work with volunteers to support large-scale meal production for seniors and neighbors.

This role requires teamwork, adherence to recipes, and food-safety practices in a busy kitchen. With a union environment and non-exempt status, you will participate in a mission-driven program to feed the community while collaborating with a dedicated culinary team and volunteers

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional, high volume kitchen experience.
• Ability to work with junior staff and volunteers in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Execute recipes in accordance with standardized recipes for large batch cooking.
• Lead by example and share knowledge with junior staff and volunteers.
• Prepare and distribute meals and manage daily production tasks.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and follow HACCP guidelines.
