Job summary

Geeks On Site is hiring an On-Call IT Field Technician to support residential and small business customers across multiple U.S. cities. The role is an independent contractor (1099) with a flexible schedule and on-site assignments paid at $35 per hour.

Responsibilities cover Windows/macOS troubleshooting, networking, printer setup, POS support, and occasional outdoor TV mounting. You provide your own tools and vehicle, set availability, and receive jobs based on proximity and skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years IT support or field service experience.
• Own required tools including a laptop and basic toolkit.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair Windows and macOS issues
• Resolve WiFi, router, and wired network problems
• Install and configure printers and scanners
• Replace or upgrade hardware components
• Reinstall operating systems using bootable tools
• Document work and communicate clearly with customers
• Install and support POS systems and run Cat5e or Cat6 cabling
• Perform outdoor TV mounting and basic AV setup
