Job summary
Geeks On Site is hiring experienced On-Call IT Field Technicians to support residential and small business customers across multiple U.S. cities. Focus areas include Windows/macOS troubleshooting, networking, printer configuration, and on-site IT services.
This is an independent contractor (1099) role with flexible scheduling; you set availability and miles, with on-site work paying $35 per hour. You will also handle POS mounting and basic AV tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in IT support or field service.
- Strong networking and diagnostic skills.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently and provide professional customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Own required tools including a laptop, drill, screwdrivers, cable tester, and RJ45 tools.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair Windows and macOS issues
- Resolve WiFi, router, and wired network problems
- Install and configure printers and scanners
- Replace or upgrade hardware components
- Reinstall operating systems using bootable tools
- Document work and communicate clearly with customers
- Install and support POS systems and run Cat5e or Cat6 cabling
- Perform outdoor TV mounting and basic AV setup
