Job summary
Geeks On Site is seeking an On-Call IT Field Technician to support residential and small business clients with Windows and macOS troubleshooting, network basics, printer setup, and on-site IT tasks. This is an independent contractor (1099) role with no guaranteed hours; you set your availability and driving radius, and we dispatch jobs that match.
Pay is $35 per hour on-site, with extra opportunities for outdoor TV mounting.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of IT support or field service experience.
- Strong networking and diagnostic skills.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and provide professional customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and carry tools to job sites.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair Windows and macOS issues.
- Resolve WiFi, router, and wired network problems.
- Install and configure printers and scanners.
- Replace or upgrade hardware components.
- Reinstall operating systems using bootable tools.
- Document work and communicate clearly with customers.
- Install and support POS systems and run Cat5e or Cat6 cabling.
- Perform outdoor TV mounting and basic AV setup.
