Job summary

Baystate Health seeks an Interfaith Chaplain On-Call to provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, with a focus on the Heart and Vascular Service Line. The role includes mentoring interns, medical students, residents, and nursing staff, and participating in on-call shifts and after-hours coverage.

The chaplain will coordinate with area religious leaders, lead services, and ensure regulatory charting duties are fulfilled while upholding

Qualifications

• A four year college degree or equivalent.
• Master's level theological degree and board certification eligibility.
• Two to four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from ACPE-accredited centers.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care assessment and interventions; participate in interdisciplinary teams and daily rounding.
• On-call per diem coverage; rotate overnight shifts with staff.
• Lead meditation, prayer services and bereavement ceremonies within the hospital.
• Initiate spiritual care visits across Baystate Medical Center and support staff during times of moral distress.
