Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Specimen Technician for the Hospital in Newport News, VA. This on-call role supports specimen preparation and pre-analytical processing with accuracy and timeliness in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of related work, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong data-entry and communication skills to liaise with hospital staff and Quest teams. Training provided; some weekend and flexible scheduling may apply.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of working experience.
• Prefer medical background and hospital lab experience.
• Data-entry capable (6,000 keystrokes/hour) and able to work in a biosafety environment.

Responsibilities

• Specimen processing and test send-out responsibilities in a hospital setting.
• Operate and interpret data from hospital LIS and Quest systems; print reports.
• Manage supply ordering and remote accessioning; provide patient liaison support.
