Job summary

MJHS is seeking an on-call Registered Nurse to provide urgent, after-hours nursing care in hospice and palliative settings. The incumbent coordinates with the triage team, responds to urgent requests, and implements patient care plans.

The role includes educating patients and caregivers, ensuring safety, medication management, and symptom control, and supporting families during end-of-life care with compassion.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• At least two years experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health, Hospice or Oncology nursing preferred.
• New York State RN licensure preferred.
• CHPN certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call patient visits scheduled or unscheduled for urgent issues after hours.
• Coordinate with Call Center Triage and On-Call Manager.
• Respond via cell phone to Triage visit requests and communicate with the on-call team.
