Job summary

Compass Group USA through Chartwells K-12 is hiring an on-call Food Service Worker for Sparta Area Schools in Sparta, MI 49345. Schedule is on-call, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. Prior food service experience is required, with duties including food prep, serving, and maintaining safety standards.

Pay ranges from $14.00 to $15.00 per hour, with benefits for eligible associates and a commitment to safe, quality service in school dining programs.

Qualifications

• Prior food service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.
• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations.
• Stores food following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays information to supervisor.
• Assures compliance with sanitation, safety and company standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
