Job summary

ICF is seeking one On-Call Fisheries Biologist based in Richmond, CA. The role involves field sampling of water quality, plankton, and larval fish in the San Francisco Estuary and inland rivers, with occasional lab work identifying plankton.

Expect irregular hours, up to 12 hours per day and up to 40 per week, including nights and weekends; travel up to five days a week may be required. A B.S. in Biology or two years of field biology plus a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Biology or related field or 2 years of field biology experience.
• Valid driver's license, ability to pass an MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Assist ICF biologists on shore and aboard boats with field sampling of water quality, phytoplankton, zooplankton, and larval fish.
• Laboratory work sorting and identifying plankton as needed.
• Deploy and retrieve weighted receivers for telemetry projects.
• Travel up to 5 days per week may be required.
