ICF is seeking an On-Call Fisheries Biologist based in Richmond, CA. Responsibilities include field sampling of water quality, plankton, and larval fish on boats and shore, with occasional lab work sorting plankton. Travel up to five days per week is possible, and duties may involve telemetry receiver deployment and retrieval.

The position requires a B.S. in Biology or related field or 2 years field biology experience, with a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Qualificações

• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
• Experience in field identification of common fish species in estuary and inland waters.
• Knowledge of sampling methods for fish, plankton, and water quality monitoring.
• Solid field skills and ability to work outdoors for extended periods.

Responsabilidades

• Assist ICF biologists on shore and aboard boats with field sampling and collection of water quality, phytoplankton, zooplankton, and larval fish in the San Francisco Estuary and inland rivers.
• Laboratory work may be required, including sorting and identifying plankton.
• Deploy and retrieve weighted receivers from boats for telemetry projects.
• Travel up to 5 days per week may be required.
