The City of Fridley is seeking Paid, On-Call Firefighters to respond to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and hazardous situations in our community. You will receive professional training, develop life-saving skills, and engage with residents through education and outreach.

Ideal candidates reside within Fridley or nearby, commit to training, and join a team that values responsiveness, drive, and service. Open house and application updates are posted by the city.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Complete EMT, Firefighter I/II and HazMat within 24 months (preference for those with I/II/EMT/HazMat).
• Meet NFPA 1582 medical/fitness standards and OSHA respirator requirements.
• Must have Minnesota Driver's License and be within six minutes of a fire station.

Responsabilités

• Respond to emergency incidents within assigned district and during scheduled periods.
• Perform firefighting activities per NFPA standards, including driving apparatus, operating pumps, and hose handling.
• Engage in technical rescue, emergency medical response, and hazardous materials response.
• Attend weekly drills, department meetings, and community outreach; maintain equipment and facilities.
• Present programs and safety education to the public.
• All other duties as assigned.
