Job summary

ICF is hiring a seasoned On-Call Senior Bat Biologist to join our Natural Resources Team. This hourly position will lead bat surveys across the Central and Eastern U.S., coordinating fieldwork with conservation planners and regulatory specialists.

Applicants should have 5+ years of field survey experience, a valid USFWS bat permit, and the ability to travel extensively. Field work may include long hours, adverse weather, and remote locations, with work conducted as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Ecology, or Environmental Science with 5+ years field survey experience
• USFWS recovery permit for Indiana bats, northern long-eared bats, and/or gray bats
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR check
• Ability to work independently in rugged terrain and long hours
• Ability to traverse up to 5 miles per day on uneven terrain

Responsibilities

• Lead bat survey teams for summer mist net and acoustic surveys
• Collect accurate field data and support project managers
• Travel to project sites across the southeastern and midwestern U.S.
