Job summary

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Federal Air Marshals are sought to protect commercial flights from terrorism and other threats. The role requires discretion, physical readiness, firearms proficiency, and the ability to operate under pressure on flights both domestic and international.

Selected candidates may travel frequently and be assigned to various field offices; education or experience may qualify, with transcripts requested when education is used for eligibility.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience, or a bachelor's degree or higher.
• Qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience.
• Transcripts required if education is used to qualify.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess developing situations with limited backup and respond quickly.
• Carry a firearm and maintain proficiency as required for federal duties.
• Conduct investigations, interviews, and advisory activities.
• Identify witnesses or suspects when required; participate in multi-agency operations.
