Job summary

The Skirball Cultural Center is seeking a Porter to maintain public and office areas in clean, safe condition and to support special events. This is a variable-hour, on-call role with shifts scheduled around programs and private events; reports to the Senior Facilities Supervisor.

The ideal candidate will have institutional housekeeping skills, knowledge of floor care, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Institutional housekeeping skills.
• Knowledge of floor care equipment, waxes, and cleaners.
• Ability to read safety rules and operating manuals.
• Ability to perform physical labor for cleaning tasks.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Fluency in English or Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax, vacuum exhibit spaces and offices to health standards.
• Empty trash and clean parking areas; maintain cleanliness of fixtures.
• Set up and break down tables, chairs, equipment per design plans.
• Transport and store furniture and equipment across campus.
• Assist with loading/unloading and move items as needed.
• Respond to staff requests and perform duties to Skirball goals.
