Job summary

Occasions Caterers is seeking on-call General Labor/Maintenance staff in Washington, DC. The role supports daily upkeep, maintenance, and event preparation across our campus and facilities.

Familiarity with building systems and basic repairs is preferred. The position offers a fixed pay rate of $25.00 per hour and an on-call schedule with hours varying. Applications are accepted online only.

Qualifications

• One year of food service utility experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with day-to-day upkeep, maintenance and smooth operation of the building.
• Repairs, maintains and assists in installation of equipment.
• Provides quality customer service with one-on-one attention to detail.
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
• Performs minor repairs to doors, fixtures and furniture.
• Monitors and verifies operating conditions via meters and gauges.
• Notifies managers about major repairs or additions to systems.
• Drives vehicles required to perform work.
• Gathers and disposes of trash; keeps restrooms clean and stocked.
• Sets up and rearranges decorations, tables and chairs for events.
• Removes snow and maintains exterior areas.
• Gathers, moves and stores supplies and equipment as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
