Job summary

Veolia is seeking a hazardous materials technician to provide remedial and disposal services, including spill response, packaging, labeling, and transport coordination. The role requires DOT/EPA knowledge and compliance with VES-TS procedures.

The position includes on-call emergency response duties, confined space entry, and lifting up to 60 pounds. A 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and CDL endorsement are required or obtainable, with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Job Description

Position Purpose:

This position provides specialized remedial and disposal services to our clients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to spill response, confined space entry, packaging, labeling, loading/unloading, transporting, and sampling/profiling of hazardous and non hazardous materials. All duties must be performed in strict compliance with applicable state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Primary Duties /Responsibilities:

• Sample waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
• Manifesting, packaging, spill clean-up response and remedial activities, labeling, loading, off loading, and coordinating transportation.
• Maintain a professional image to clients: answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing/potential problems.
• Comply and enforce all compliance, health, safety, and procedures in accordance with VES-TS policies.
• Become familiar with all U. S. Department of Transportation (DOT)/Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and VES-TS regulations required in submitting paper work to expedite disposal of hazardous waste.

Additional Information

Hourly Pay Range:

$23 to $25 per hour
