Job summary

Paragon Prep, part of Spring Education Group, seeks an enthusiastic Substitute Elementary and Middle School Teacher for an on-call role in Austin, TX. You will follow daily lesson plans and help maintain a smooth learning environment when regular teachers are absent.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and prior classroom experience. The position offers a competitive hourly salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Prior work experience in an elementary or middle school classroom setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Cover classrooms as needed in accordance with Paragon Prep’s philosophy, goals, and objectives.
• Follow the lesson plans left by the regular teacher and ensure the normal flow of classroom activities.
• Oversee classroom discipline, fostering a positive and non-punitive learning environment.
• Ensure the classroom is orderly, clean, and well-organized during your coverage.
• If serving as a long-term substitute, develop and deliver lesson plans that meet the needs of the class.
• Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm, and interest in the subject matter and the teaching role.
• Maintain professionalism and positive communication with students, parents, and staff.
• Arrive punctually, adhere to daily schedules, and perform tasks with integrity and reliability.
• Treat all students with dignity and respect, demonstrating patience and self-control.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
