Job summary

Peninsula Family Service is seeking an On-Call Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing learning environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years across multiple sites in Silicon Valley. The role supports social-emotional, cognitive, and language development while engaging families and meeting regulatory standards.

Requires 12 ECE/CD units (3 in infant/toddler development), an associate degree (bachelor’s preferred), and at least one year of licensed childcare experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 ECE/CD units with 3 units in Infant/toddler development is required.
• Associate’s degree in early childhood education or related field (bachelor’s degree is desirable).
• At least one year of experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare facility.
• California Child Development Teacher Permit (or eligible to obtain one).
• Current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to pass background checks, TB tests, and meet immunization requirements.
• Bilingual skills desired (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement curriculum and activities using established early learning frameworks.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized classroom while meeting licensing and Head Start standards.
• Complete ongoing observations and maintain child records and portfolios.
• Engage families through conferences, home visits, and sharing progress and resources.
• Collaborate with staff and supervisors while following confidentiality and policies.
