Job summary

Round Lake Area Schools District 116 is seeking a Day-to-Day Substitute (Teacher / Teaching Assistant) to support classrooms on an on-call basis. The role requires following provided lesson plans, supervising students, and maintaining a safe learning environment in multiple buildings.

The position is governed by an at-will employment status, with day-to-day assignments and a daily pay rate of $180 for Teaching and $130 for Teaching Assistant, and ISBE licensure requirements for substitution.

Qualifications

• Minimum education required to meet ISBE licensure requirements for Substitute or Professional Educator licensure.
• Experience working with school-aged children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction and supervision in accordance with provided lesson plans and district guidelines.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly environment conducive to learning.
• Monitor student behavior, enforce school rules, and follow established disciplinary procedures.
• Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, or other assigned duties as requested by administration.
• Take accurate attendance and complete required end-of-day documentation or reporting.
• Utilize instructional technology and follow all district safety and emergency protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all district policies, punctuality standards, and check-in/out procedures.
