Job summary

Regional School Unit 23 seeks a Custodian to perform cleaning and basic maintenance in school buildings and grounds under supervision. You will operate cleaning equipment, load and unload supplies, and support students, staff and visitors as needed.

Ideal candidate reads/writes English, follows work orders, and can work outdoors in inclement weather. Pay range is $19.85–$25.25 per hour; FLSA status is non-exempt.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• [State] Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Checks and secures building at beginning and end of shift for safety and cleanliness.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways and other areas.
• Replaces light bulbs and cleans glass areas.
• Sets up and breaks down chairs, tables and equipment for meetings.
• Cleans floors, saves graffiti, and maintains grounds as needed.
• Receives deliveries and assists in unloading and stocking supplies.
