Job summary

SFUSD is seeking an As-Needed Custodian for the Custodial Services Department. The position offers a salary of $29.92/hourly in a temporary exempt appointment for 6 months, with Full Time / Full Year calendar and shifts covering 6:00 AM–11:30 PM as needed within the SFUSD district.

Minimum qualifications include 6 months of verifiable custodial experience; a California Class C driver's license is preferred. This role requires the ability to cover any shift and work citywide within San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Six months (1040 hours) verifiable paid full-time custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial setting.
• California Class C Driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, scrub, mop floors and wax floors; vacuum carpets.
• Clean, dust, polish surfaces and empty waste receptacles.
• Clean stairs, restrooms; replenish supplies; assist in unclogging sinks and toilets.
• Move and arrange furniture and equipment as needed.
• Unlock doors, open windows, and secure premises; operate lights.
• Operate janitorial equipment and perform basic maintenance checks.
• Clean auditoriums, gymnasiums, locker rooms; report vandalism or damage.
• Wash interior and exterior windows accessible from floor level.
• Repair chairs, desks, and toys as needed.
• Perform other related tasks as required.
