Job summary

Bohannan Huston in Las Cruces, NM seeks an on-call Experienced Construction Observer to represent the project owner on-site, ensure work aligns with plans, and document progress daily.

You will monitor activities, interpret drawings, coordinate with engineers, and support field testing and RFIs. This is an on-call, potentially seasonal role requiring a valid NM driver’s license and 5+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in construction or construction observation of civil infrastructure projects.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer focused with strong communication.
• Valid NM driver’s license with no major violations in 3 years.
• Proficient in reading/writing and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction activities.
• Write daily field reports.
• Track material quantities.
• Interpret plans and specifications.
• Maintain a redline set of construction drawings.
• Assist the engineer with RFIs.
• Review material submittals.
• Perform and coordinate field testing of materials.
• Assist Project Managers with related tasks.
• Overnight travel may be required; per diem provided.
