Job summary

Precise Systems seeks an Alternate Clinical Veterinarian to provide emergency and limited veterinary services with strict regulatory compliance for DoD research animals. The role involves disease surveillance, surgical support, anesthesia, analgesia, and post‑procedural animal care.

The veterinarian must maintain on‑call availability and collaborate with the Attending Clinical Veterinarian and Animal Facility Manager.

Qualifications

• Must hold Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and current state veterinary license.
• Board certification as DACLAM or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Attending Clinical Veterinarian to plan and oversee disease surveillance, diagnosis, treatment, and animal care.
• Maintain compliance with The Guide, PHS Policy, OLAW Assurance, AVMA euthanasia guidelines and AR regulations.
• Provide on‑call coverage, site rounds, and communications with investigators and Animal Facility Manager.
• Prepare and submit Veterinary Activity Reports after facility rounds.
• Assist with peri‑operative care, anesthesia, analgesia, and humane euthanasia as needed.
• Participate in IACUC meetings and ensure AAALAC accreditation requirements are met.
