Job summary

Safe Harbor Recovery Center in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a full‑time Driver to transport clients for admissions, appointments and events. This onsite role includes maintaining safety, completing records, and providing shift handoffs to ensure uninterrupted service.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and CPR/First aid certifications. Experience in a behavioral facility is preferred; on‑call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, or equivalent considered.
• One or more years’ relevant work experience in behavioral facility preferred.
• Valid state driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Drives company vehicles to transport clients for admissions, appointments, activity trips, discharges, and events.
• Picks up or transports visitors or staff as needed.
• Maintains vehicle logs and reports maintenance issues.
• Provides verbal report/briefing to the oncoming shift.
• Adheres to on-call schedule and safety policies.
• Completes transportation documentation accurately.
