We have an exciting opportunity for a Crisis Screener Therapist (On-Call) to join our team of talented professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all calls from The Call Center (TCC) by answering or calling TCC back within five (5) minutes.
  • Proceed to the hospital if TCC indicates the child is enrolled in the CareLink Network and does not have private insurance.
  • Complete the Crisis Screening Assessment and related documentation at the hospital emergency room.
  • Consult with the On-Call Psychiatrist to determine an appropriate referral (in the least restrictive environment).
  • Secure placement at a psychiatric hospital or crisis residential if needed.
  • After-hours assessments must be submitted via the on-line medical chart by 9:00 a.m. every weekday morning.

NOTE: Items a) through e) must be completed within three (3) hours of the initial phone call from ETS.

Accept calls from TCC and/or hospital social workers and dispatch crisis phone calls to Crisis Screeners on-call during after office hours and weekends.

Fax or drop off all Screening Assessment paperwork to the Program Supervisor on a weekly basis.

Complete all required documentation according to established timelines.

Attend and participate in staff meetings.

Follow all protocol and contract requirements of the funding sources and/or agency.

Follow The Guidance Center’s professional code of ethics.

Complete twenty-five (25) hours of training on an annual basis specific to the treatment of children and adolescents.

Obtain and pass the CAFAS training within 6 months of executing this agreement.

Participate in coordination of services with other staff, providers, or funding sources, if needed.

Make referrals to Child Protective Services as required.

Fulfill all other obligations of individual professional service contract.

Other duties as necessary, requested, and/or assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

A Master’s Degree in the human service field, i.e., social work, psychology, professional counseling

Possess the appropriate license in the State of Michigan (LLMSW, LMSW, TLLP, LLP, LPC, and / or LLPC).

A minimum of one year post-degree experience in assessing and providing treatment to children and adolescents is required.

Must demonstrate completion of course work, filed work, or job experience in providing assessment, diagnosis, and individual, group or family treatment to children and/or adolescents, ages 0-17.

Must have the ability to engage in therapeutic relationships with children and families in a crisis situation and demonstrate proven assessment skills and have experience in working with children and adolescents and be versed in crisis intervention.

Must have ability to appropriately handle crisis situations and able to work independently.

Must meet requirements for Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) credential within 120 days of hire.

Basic Computer Skills Are Required.

A valid driver’s license along with a favorable driving record is required.
