Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in a clinic setting under supervision. You will perform routine clinical tasks, assist physicians, prepare and administer medications as directed, and help with chart management and scheduling.

Candidates must have CMA or RMA or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, Basic Life Support, and preferably 1 year of medical assisting experience.

Qualifications

• Computer and typing skills are preferred.
• Basic Life Support is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant or completion of accredited Medical Assistant program is required.

Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures and applicable laws.
• Performs routine patient care functions as prescribed by licensed providers.
• Assists assigned physician(s) and other health care professionals.
• Performs routine clerical duties such as scheduling, chart management, and phone handling.
• Prepares and administers medications as directed by physician orders.
• Assists medical personnel with procedures and diagnostic exams.
• Maintains infection control and aseptic technique per guidelines.
• Maintains test results and follow-up information for patients.
• Provides basic information and assistance to patients under supervision.
• Documents nursing procedures and patient responses with confidentiality.
• Establishes cooperative relations with patients, staff and coworkers.
