Job summary

Compass Group USA in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an on-call Catering Captain to coordinate staff schedules and ensure timely service at catered events. You may drive a truck to deliver food and beverages and handle setup, service, and cleanup under the direction of the Catering Director.

A valid driver’s license and food handler or alcohol server permits where required by state law are often needed. This role offers on-call responsibilities with varied hours based on event schedules.

Qualifications

• Previous off-premise catering experience required.
• On-call availability for events.

Responsibilities

• Determines workload requirements from catering orders.
• Meets with function group leaders to discuss setup and changes.
• Interacts with customers and resolves complaints.
• Demonstrates understanding of menu items.
• Instructs staff on work expectations for catered functions.
• Assembles and delivers food and supplies to locations.
• Serves food and beverages to guests.
• Maintains HACCP standards and proper serving temperatures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
