Job summary

Rincon Consultants, Inc. seeks As-Needed/On-Call Archaeological Field Technicians to support the Cultural Resources team across California.

You will participate in surveys, site recording, and monitoring with senior staff, gaining diverse field experience and contributing to project deliverables. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Archaeology/Anthropology and at least 1 year of professional field experience, with GPS data collection skills and the ability to hike long distances in varied

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field.
• At least 1 year of professional archaeological field experience or equivalent (Master's may substitute).
• Experience with GPS data collection (Trimble and/or Garmin).
• Ability to hike 10-12 miles per day in rugged terrain with 25 lbs equipment.
• Availability for 10-12 day field rotations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological surveys, monitoring, site recording and field evaluations under supervision.
• Document field data accurately and in compliance with project standards.
• Prepare field forms, site records, maps, photographs, and documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, field leadership, clients, tribal representatives, and team members.
• Support laboratory work and post-field processing as needed.
• Contribute to safe and efficient field operations while maintaining Rincon's quality standards.
• Perform other duties to ensure successful project delivery.
