Job summary

Cumulus Media | Columbia, SC is seeking a part-time On Air Host for WNKT. You will co-host or be on mic, contribute to daily content, and coordinate with Brand & Content Leader to align with strategy.

Ideal candidates have experience as a content originator in smaller markets, strong social/digital skills, flexibility with nights/weekends/holidays, and knowledge of VOX Pro/Adobe Audition.

Qualifications

• Experience creating content for radio or college stations preferred.
• Strong social and digital media skills with a proactive mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with creative individuals as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Live hosting and contribution to the show’s daily moment-to-moment content, sound and presentation.
• Executing teases and promos of upcoming content and station events that support the show.
• Managing the show’s daily digital content for relevance and creativity across multiple platforms.
• Book and pre-interview guests.
• Be available for meetings with the station’s Brand & Content Leader to ensure tactical plans and image are consistent with the station’s strategy.
• Coordinate logistics for remote and special broadcasts.
• Manage a system for archiving audio, show content, digital content.
• Monitors listener inquiries and responses related to shows.

Position Overview

Cumulus Media | Columbia, SC is searching for a part-time On Air Host for WNKT. Ideal candidates would have to be able to be prepared to co-host and/or be on the mic with the host. We hire people who are passionate about audio, video and social media and are driven, resourceful problem solvers who thrive in the evolving, diverse culture of the entertainment business. The successful candidate takes pride in their creativity and success of the overall content.

Qualifications

• Preferred track record of success as a Content originator in a smaller market or college station
• Strong social and digital experience
• Ability to plan and organize, set priorities, multi-task and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with creative individuals as part of a team
• Deep knowledge of sports and the sports fan lifestyle
• Proficient computer skills
• Strong production skills and knowledge of VOX Pro/Adobe Audition and Audacity
• Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations
• Must be flexible with work hours including nights, weekends and holidays
• Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Pay Range

USD $12.00 - USD $15.00 /Yr.
