The role involves complex modelling calculations and data analysis. The successful candidate will design, construct, and document models across the organization, continuously researching and assessing new processes for model development and analytical enhancement.

About Old Mutual Finance

Established in 2008, Old Mutual Finance provides unsecured lending products and services to the South African market. Starting with 34 staff, it has grown to over 3,000 employees with more than 300 branches nationwide. Our branches offer insurance, lending products, and servicing.

We are currently seeking a OMF Credit Analyst – Portfolio Analytics. Reporting to the Manager: Portfolio Analytics and Forecasting, the responsibilities include:

  • Developing and documenting forecasting and simulation methodologies for business planning.
  • Forecasting key metrics related to the OMF portfolio and operations.
  • Analyzing performance across the portfolio to gain insights and provide recommendations.
  • Monitoring and validating the effectiveness of policy rules across the credit life-cycle.
  • Producing ad-hoc analyses to answer business questions.
  • Improving the portfolio narrative related to OMF’s credit function.
  • Producing timely and accurate reports to track performance and explain variances.
  • Setting targets to align operational efforts with the business plan.
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in SQL, R, and Python.
