Job summary

Archipelago Companies is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer, AI Enablement to build the AI backbone across brands and subsidiaries, shipping connectors, internal tools, and data workflows. You’ll train teams and ship practical AI solutions while collaborating with non-technical stakeholders.

The role is a hybrid, in-office position based in Irvine, CA with four days onsite and one day remote weekly; salary range is $120,000-$160,000 plus annual bonus, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with Python/TypeScript/Go.
• Experience building integrations and APIs.
• Familiar with AI/LLM tooling and internal tools/connectors.
• Experience with multiple SaaS platforms (Slack, Microsoft 365, Google Drive, Notion, Shopify).
• Strong communication and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

About The Role

Tradewind Services provides shared services across Archipelago Companies' portfolio of brands (OluKai, Melin, Roark) and international subsidiaries (Arch-UK, Arch-EU). We're hiring a Sr. Software Engineer, AI Enablement to help build the technical backbone of AI adoption across the organization: the connectors, internal tools, and workflows that let teams actually use AI in their day-to-day work, plus the hands-on training to get them there. This is a hybrid build-and-teach role. You'll be writing code and shipping infrastructure, and you'll also be in the room with non-technical teams helping them understand and adopt what you've built.

Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Train users across departments and brands on AI tools and workflows, translating technical capability into practical, everyday use
• Design and build the core AI infrastructure for the organization: custom connectors, internal applications, and integrations between AI tools and existing business systems
• Wire up automated workflows that connect AI capabilities to data sources and operational systems
• Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations supporting AI use cases across brands
• Partner with stakeholders across OluKai, Melin, Roark, and subsidiaries to identify high-value AI opportunities and turn them into working tools
• Evaluate emerging AI models, tools, and platforms, and recommend what's worth adopting
• Establish security and data-governance practices for AI tools that touch company systems and data
• Track adoption and report on impact across teams
• Document systems and workflows so they're maintainable and adoptable beyond your own desk

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Go, or similar languages
• Strength in building integrations and APIs
• Comfort working with AI/LLM tooling and a genuine interest in applied AI (not just theory)
• Experience building internal tools or connectors that talk to multiple systems (e.g., Slack, Microsoft 365, Google Drive, Notion, Shopify, or similar SaaS platforms)
• Strong communication skills; you can explain technical concepts to non-technical users without talking down to them
• Comfortable working independently and building things from a blank page
• Balanced judgment on safe, appropriate AI use, especially with company and customer data
• Familiarity with data platforms (e.g., Domo, BigQuery, or similar) is a plus
• Actively seeks out AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies, adapting quickly to leverage them for improved productivity, deeper insights, and more effective processes, while exercising sound judgment and maintaining compliance with organizational standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep experience with several of the following: Claude, ChatGPT, Vercel, n8n, GitHub, Cloudflare, or MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers
• Background supporting multi-brand or multi-entity organizations

Location & Office Structure: This is an in-office hybrid position, mandatory 4 days per week in office in Irvine, CA with the option to work from home 1 day per week. On call as needed and subject to change without notice as per company guidelines.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus; salary is based on the experience that you bring to the position.
