Job summary

Avecia Pharma, based in the United States, is seeking a Research Associate to assist in developing processes and methods for synthesis, purification, ultrafiltration, and lyophilization of oligonucleotide products. You will prepare and test samples for analysis and support scale-up and process optimization.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a science field and general knowledge of chemical laboratory procedures and equipment. The annual salary range is $61,400.00–$75,200.00.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in science-related discipline with relevant knowledge.
• General knowledge of chemical laboratory procedures and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out laboratory work to develop/improve oligonucleotide processes
• Carry out laboratory support to assist in the solution of manufacturing process issues.
• Assist with laboratory preparations of API samples for customer use utilizing best available procedures and practices to produce requested amounts of material with acceptable quality attributes.
• Maintain laboratory documentation using standard scientific record keeping practices
• Adhere to all company and departmental environmental health and safety policies and procedures
• Perform assigned group responsibilities to maintain an efficient operating laboratory
• Maintain an appropriate level of training on company and departmental procedures as determined by Avecia and Process Development
• Acquire knowledge of oligonucleotide chemistry principles, theories, and processes
