We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Infant Teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teaching and learning. The hours for this position are 8:30-5:30, Monday-Friday.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
- Observe all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Brier Creek and applicable regulatory agencies regarding health, safety, and care of children.
- Assess each child's developmental needs regularly.
- Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules following the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
- Coordinate with Leadership Team for parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
- Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom environment that encourages exploration and decision-making.
- Provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children, establishing clear behavioral expectations.
- Handle classroom maintenance and housekeeping duties for classrooms, common areas, and playgrounds.
- Attend all required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
- Maintain professional appearance per the Primrose School of Brier Creek Employee Handbook guidelines.
- Assist in other duties as determined by the Director or designee.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
- Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
- Knowledge of social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, including infants into and out of cribs.
- 2-year degree in early childhood or related field preferred.
