Job description

Clearance: Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC)

We’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Okta Architect to design and help implement DLA’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, with a strong focus on Okta as our core authentication and authorization platform. This is a crucial role in ensuring secure and seamless access to our organization’s resources while aligning with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. As part of the Enterprise Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) team, the architect will lead the design and integration of identity and access solutions using Okta as the primary authentication and authorization platform. This position requires a blend of strategic vision and hands-on technical execution to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant access to DLA systems and applications.

Job Duties:

  • Design and implement Okta integrations for both cloud and on-premise applications.
  • Configure advanced policies for SSO, MFA, contextual access, and risk-based authentication.
  • Administer Okta tenants, including user/group structures and custom attributes.
  • Monitor system health, resolve issues, and optimize Okta performance and reliability.
  • Define and maintain a comprehensive ICAM architecture aligned with DoD standards and DLA objectives.
  • Evaluate new IAM technologies to enhance the Okta ecosystem and improve security posture.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, process workflows, and configuration baselines.
  • Modify and enhance existing software systems to support ICAM integration and platform compatibility.
  • Support the development and implementation of an Enterprise Portal with SSO and user tiling capabilities.
  • Perform feasibility analyses and provide recommendations for future system enhancements.
  • Partner with IT, cybersecurity, and application teams to ensure successful deployment and adoption of ICAM solutions.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers on Okta implementation, IAM best practices, and secure design principles.
  • Stay current with IAM trends, tools, and DoD ICAM directives to maintain system compliance and innovation.

Work may include the occasional afterhours and/or weekend work based on mission priorities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Okta Certified Technical Architect
  • DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II:CompTIA Security+ Certification or greater

Minimum Experience:

  • Five (5) years relevant experience with senior-level ICAM integrations
  • Three (3) years experience in supporting Government ICAM integrations
  • Experience with other IAM solutions beyond Okta
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of identity federation protocols such as SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
  • Hands-on experience with Okta API integrations and automation using tools like Terraform or similar.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python or PowerShell for automation and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience as Okta System Administration, Integration and implementation
