Job summary

Cross Country Genetics is seeking a Donor Manager for our Oklahoma clinic near Guthrie. This full-time role partners with veterinarians, embryologists, and clients to keep donor and recipient programs operating smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage donor groups, coordinate breeding activities, and help ensure accurate record-keeping while interfacing with clients and staff. A strong cattle industry interest and team mindset are essential.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Animal Science or related field; GPA 3.0+ preferred.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge & experience with general farm work and cattle handling.
  • Ability to operate farm equipment and lift 50+ pounds.
  • AI trained is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage donor groups and recipient herds.
  • Administer superovulation drugs and synchronization protocols.
  • Heat detection and AI of donors.
  • Admitting and discharging cattle, loading/unloading.
  • Handling semen transfers and record-keeping.
  • Assist veterinarians on collection days and communicate results.

We are hiring a full-time Donor Manager to join our Oklahoma clinic located near Guthrie, OK, just a short drive to Oklahoma City and Stillwater! If you enjoy working with cattle, like being part of a tight-knit team, and have a passion for the ag industry, this might be the role for you.

We work with some of the most progressive seedstock producers in the country, and this position is hands-on and highly involved. As the Donor Manager, you7ll work closely with our veterinarians, embryologists, and clients to keep donor and recipient programs running smoothly and successfully.

Donor & Recipient Herd Work
  • Organize and manage donor groups and recipient herds
  • Administration of superovulation drugs and synchronization protocols
  • Heat detection and artificial insemination (AI) of donors
  • Admitting and discharging cattle, including loading and unloading
  • Handling semen transfers and completing check-in/check-out paperwork
  • Assisting veterinarians on collection days and helping communicate results to clients
  • Assisting embryologists in the lab on collection days and freezing IVF embryos
General Herd Responsibilities
  • Daily feeding of cows on the farm
  • Monitoring health status and treatment of sick cows/calves as needed
  • Year-round vaccination and deworming protocols outlined by veterinarian
  • Maintaining cow locations and numbers
  • Close communication with veterinarians
Working With Clients
  • Providing great customer service to haul-in clients
  • Talking with clients about schedules, AI protocols, collection results, and clinic services
  • Attending client seedstock sales and ag-related meetings as a representative of Cross Country Genetics
Farm & Facility Responsibilities
  • Assisting with pasture management
  • Manage hay inventory and ordering hay as needed
  • Maintain fences, cattle facilities, and farm equipment
Records & Organization
  • Tracking donor and recipient performance, including pregnancy rates
  • Maintaining medical records for clinic donors
  • Tracking hay inventory
  • Using Microsoft Excel for record keeping (Excel experience required; other Microsoft programs are a plus)
Schedule & Time Commitment
  • This role involves hands-on responsibilities 7 days a week
  • Typically includes 1–2 weekends off per month
  • Participation in a holiday rotation is required

Who Were Looking For

You are a hard-working, self-starter who enjoys hands-on, day-to-day work with cattle. You have a background or strong interest in the beef industry, animal science and/or cattle embryo transfer. You are organized, dependable, and comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities, including working as a part of a team and communicating with clients. A non-traditional schedule doesn7t scare you because you understand that livestock work doesn7t fit into a 9-5 job. A positive attitude, strong work ethic and love for the beef industry make you a great fit here.

Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge & experience with general farm work and cattle handling
  • Ability to operate farm equipment and lift 50+ pounds
  • AI trained is a plus but not required (training can be provided)
