Job Description: Fabrication Technician

Position Overview: Assist in various shop departments, including gasket, hose, mechanical seal, cylinder repair, and conveyor belting. Use tools to measure, manipulate, cut gaskets, and fabricate hoses and related products. Perform general shop duties under close supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in inventory counting, tagging, stacking, sorting, and organizing stock. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and shop areas.
• Engage in lean activities and adhere to safety regulations.
• Suggest improvements and contribute to continuous improvement projects related to lean, quality, and safety.
• Operate equipment such as gasket presses, circle cutters, Allpax cutters, shears, and punch presses.
• Assist in hose area tasks like banding, crimping, rolling, cutting, and testing hoses. Support hydro or hydraulic hose work.
• Help in mechanical seal department with disassembly, cleaning, bead blasting, and packing/shipping components.
• Assist with shipping duties, including packing, receiving, and crate building.
• Operate a forklift upon certification.
• Regularly use a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of industrial shop experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills are a plus.
• Ability to use a tape measure and understand basic math.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
