Position Summary

The Organization, Information, and Learning Sciences (OILS) Program in the College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences seeks to hire Temporary Part-Time Faculty (TPT) to teach online courses in our graduate and undergraduate programs. The program anticipates a need for Temporary Part-Time Faculty positions for the following courses:

  • OILS 543: Instructional Design
  • OILS 593: Topic-Online Learning Leadership
  • IADL 1112: AI for Learners: Principles, Applications, and Ethical Considerations
Responsibilities

Teach online courses in graduate and undergraduate programs as a Temporary Part-Time Faculty member and contribute to student learning experiences in the listed courses.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

  • Doctoral degree in Instructional Design and Technology, Learning Sciences, Education, or a closely related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • OILS 543 - Instructional Design
    • Experience with both ADDIE and agile design models (e.g., SAM), including needs assessment/analysis, task analysis, and prototyping, and the ability to guide students in applying these approaches
    • Experience teaching client-led, project-based courses with teamwork
    • Experience teaching online and facilitating interactive synchronous sessions at the college or university level in OILS or a closely related field
    • Experience applying learning theories to instructional design practice
    • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
  • OILS 593 - Topic-Online Learning Leadership
    • Awareness of research on effective online learning
    • Experience with online learning leadership and planning
    • Knowledge of online learning frameworks and markets
    • Experience teaching online at the college or university level in OILS or a closely related field
    • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
  • IADL 1112 - AI for Learners: Principles, Applications, and Ethical Considerations
    • Ability to teach AI and machine learning concepts to all learners in clear, accessible ways
    • Experience using and critically evaluating generative AI tools for learning activities
    • Skill in facilitating discussions on AI ethics and reflective practice in educational contexts
    • Experience teaching online at the college or university level in OILS or a closely related field
    • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
