Job summary

Desert Environmental is hiring a Wash Rack Operator to wash out trucks on location in Pecos, TX and Orla, TX. The role includes handling oil-based mud wash operations, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and delivering excellent customer service.

The position operates on a 14/7 rotational schedule with 12-hour shifts. Company-paid housing is provided during shifts, and housing options extend to nearby Pecos/Orla areas for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record required.
• 6 months to 1 year related experience preferred but not required.
• Residence in Pecos, TX or within 30 miles; Orla, TX within 60 miles; company-paid housing during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Washing out trucks (end dumps, vacuum trucks, and roll-off boxes) in an oil-based mud safety-sensitive environment.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Turn pumps on and off.
• Identify trucks entering and exiting the wash pad.
• Clean mud in the wash bay for loading onto haul trucks.
• Wash handrails to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Identify issues and ensure equipment in wash bay is ready and functioning.
• Check oil in pumps.
• Ensure washout hoses, fittings, and nozzles are secure and not cracked.
• Ensure pumps are not leaking.
• Check water fill lines to washout tanks.
• Comply with health and safety policies and legal requirements.
• Report issues or unsafe conditions to supervisor/HSE.
